The Role
Do you have experience in filming and editing video content for a variety of audiences? Do you have strong project management skills with the ability to develop creative ideas and transform them into practical reality? If so, this could be the role for you.
The Creative Digital Officer will produce and coordinate a wide variety of multi-media content for activities spanning faculty-level student recruitment, research reputation, and business, innovation, and skills. The role offers a unique opportunity to shape and deliver the online presence and communications of the faculty through the filming and editing of videos, coordinating photography, and developing a variety of graphics for use on our various platforms.
Reporting to the Faculty Communications Manager, you will join a multidisciplinary team working to develop engaging and high-quality online content, in line with university and faculty objectives.

The appointment is open-ended and offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) with an immediate start date.
Key Accountabilities
Develop, create, and edit content in a range of multimedia formats for Faculty and School projects. This includes:
Course overviews
Facility tours
Student experience vlogs
Module insights
Meet the academics
Alumni case studies
Industry partnerships
Film and edit video content for a variety of audiences e.g., research videos, student profiles, campus/facility tours etc which includes capturing original footage and adapting existing assets
Coordinate photo shoots and filming sessions, ensuring the appropriate consent forms are complete
Devise scripts and project manage filming projects
Produce graphics and animations, adhering to brand guidelines, for use on websites, social media platforms, newsletters etc
Provide training to upskill staff and student ambassadors so they can produce content themselves/take part in online recruitment activities and offer them ongoing support and advice
Create creative copy for online platforms to maximise the reach of content
Liaise with external providers, where appropriate, for creative digital projects
Develop close working relationships with colleagues in the Faculty Marketing and Communications Team, Central External Relations, Academic Units and Research Centres
Any other duties as required in-line with the general nature/scope of the role
The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Proven experience in filming and editing video content
Experience in capturing photography for a variety of audiences
Excellent proof-reading skills, particularly when creating on screen graphics and subtitles for videos
Extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite for visual productions (Photoshop/Premiere Pro/After Effects)
The ability to follow brand guidelines and to ensure content meets branding requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication with the ability to develop effective working relationships across multiple teams
Project management skills, including time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines
The ability to work flexibility/outside of the standard office hours of 9-5 and at weekends as necessary
