Wood Machinist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Wood Machinist to work at Jelson Head Office in Leicester. Family run for 130 years, we strive in delivering exceptional service to our customers.

The main purpose of the role is to cut and prepare timber, MDF and MFC to a high standard.

**Your key tasks will include**:

- Ability to follow plans/drawings and set machines accordingly
- Selecting and fitting saws, drill bits or other tools to the machines
- Cutting stairs, kitchens and general joinery components to size
- Selecting the appropriate material for each job
- Ability to set up and use various machinery including morticer, cross cut saw, spindle moulder, tenoners, panel saw, PAR moulder and overhead routers
- Checking the accuracy of machines
- Able to work unaided and as part of a team
- Keeping a clean and tidy workspace
- Compliance with health & safety policies, risk assessments & procedures at all times
- Carry out additional duties within your skill and competence
- Compliance with GDPR at all times
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent in wood machining
- Previous experience of working in a workshop environment essential
- Good attention to detail
- Work to a high level of accuracy

**Salary**: £14.33 per hour
