Usual hours of work would be Saturday and Sunday 12.30pm to 8pm with half hour or an hour break, but different start and finish times may sometimes be required and mutually agreed.
Working either every weekend or alternate weekends if you prefer (let me know what you can do).

5.6 weeks per year pro rata paid annual leave.
Casual dress.
Pension scheme available (optional).

Previous experience in care work is not a requirement.

This job is one to one, you will only have one client. You will be looking after a youngish intelligent adult with varied interests, including the arts, scifi, literature, music, animals, theatre and psychology amongst other things. The client is fully vaccinated and regularly Covid-19 tested.

Essential requirements:
Applicant must be:

- LGBTQ+ friendly.
- Applicants should be friendly, caring, calm, patient and easy going at work. The person you will be caring for specifically wants someone who is easy to get along with and who doesn't mind following specific instructions, who's adaptable, flexible and good at paying attention details.
- Must be organised at work.
- Physically fit enough to push a person in a manual wheelchair outdoors sometimes and do household cleaning jobs, carrying shopping, assisting with mobility etc.
- Comfortable with assisting with light personal care duties eg hair washing, dressing and undressing.

Desirable skills:

- Willing to assist the client to go away on weekends away occasionally (travel costs and accommodation will be provided).

Job role:
Supporting a person who has a physical disability to live independently at home (the client is not elderly).

Cooking vegetarian food.

Shopping.

Household tasks, eg cleaning, tidying, filing, organising, admin, laundry.

Administering medication.

Organising the client's diary, making sure day to day tasks and events are planned and remembered.

Looking after household pets.

Taking client out to appointments and events.

Keeping the home secure.

Massage for pain relief (training can be provided).

You may dress in casual comfortable clothes for work. You will be required to keep your nails reasonably short and no false nails at work for Covid-19 hygiene reasons.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 14 per week

**Salary**: £10.00-£10.40 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
PPE (face masks, hand sanitiser & aprons etc) will be provided to you. Staff will be elligible for covid-19 vaccine in the priority group and the flu vaccine for free. Work surfaces are cleaned frequently. Staff and client have regular Covid-19 tests.
