An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated librarian to join the North Somerset libraries team based in Weston-super-Mare Town Hall (hybrid working), as maternity cover.

This is a varied and interesting job in a small team. Under the lead of the Library Services Development Manager, you will be responsible for supporting delivery of library services for outreach and families across North Somerset. A key role will be to lead delivery of the annual summer reading challenge for children.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the role of libraries within the community, who enjoys working with people. You will need to be adaptable, a good communicator, and able to come up with innovative solutions to challenges. You will have experience of managing others, excellent customer service and good ICT skills, with the ability to manage and organise your own work. You should have significant experience of working in libraries or related services or have achieved an approved relevant professional qualification. You will be expected to work towards becoming a chartered member of CILIP.
