Deburring Operative Job Specification
**Summary**:
The Deburring Operative is responsible for removing rough edges (burrs) left behind on parts after the manufacturing process. This ensures a smooth finish and prevents injuries during handling or assembly.
**Duties**:
- Manually deburr parts using tools like files, scrapers, deburring knives, and sanding tools.
- Operate deburring machines to remove burrs efficiently.
- Visually inspect parts to ensure all burrs are removed and meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- May involve measuring parts to ensure they meet dimensional specifications.
- Report any discrepancies or defects to the supervisor.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good eyesight.
- Familiarity with basic measuring tools.
- Experience with deburring tools and techniques preferred.
- forklift licence essential.
- abrasive wheels training preferred.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry light to medium weight objects (up to 25kg).
- Ability to use repetitive hand and arm motions.
