**Job Title**: Shipping Clerk - Road Freight Specialist
**Hours**: Monday to Friday - 9am - 5:30pm
**Salary**: £25K - £30K - (Depending on experience)
**Location**: East London

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Road Freight Coordination**:
+ Oversee the planning and coordination of road freight shipments, ensuring timely pick-ups and deliveries.
+ Collaborate with carriers, trucking companies, and drivers to optimise routes and schedules.
+ Monitor and track shipments to provide real-time updates to internal stakeholders and clients.

**1. Documentation and Compliance**:
+ Prepare and manage shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs declarations.
+ Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and international shipping requirements.
+ Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate the clearance of goods through customs.

**1. Inventory Management**:
+ Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and locations for road freight shipments.
+ Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and address any discrepancies.
+ Collaborate with warehouse teams to optimise storage and handling of goods.

**1. Communication and Customer Service**:
+ Act as a point of contact for clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries regarding shipments.
+ Communicate proactively with internal teams to resolve any issues or delays in the shipping process.
+ Generate and share regular reports on shipping activities and performance metrics.

**1. Problem Resolution**:
+ Identify and address any challenges or disruptions in the road freight process promptly.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find solutions to shipping-related issues.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or similar role, with a focus on road freight logistics.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping practices.
- Familiarity with logistics software and tracking systems.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accuracy in documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

**Education and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics is a plus.
- Previous experience in a logistics or shipping role, preferably with a focus on road freight.
