**Technical Analysts**

**The Role**

Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK, to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit for Technical Analysts within our ISD (Information Systems Department) team.

The position of Technical Analyst is to provide technical services and solutions to the HPUK IT department in the design and support of its IT infrastructure and software architecture to meet business requirements. This is to be done through specialist expertisetechnical or product areas that will deliver solutions to complex business problems as well as providing 2nd and 3rd line support for HPUK IT.

**Key Requirements**
- Monitoring and authorisation of access to IT facilities or infrastructure in accordance with established organisational policy.
- The operation and control of the IT infrastructure (typically hardware, software, data stored on various media, and all equipment within wide and local area networks) required to deliver and support IT services and products to meet the needs of a business.
- Facilitate and execute the installation and maintenance of system software such as operating systems, data management products, office automation products and other utility software.
- Provision of network maintenance and support services. Support maybe provided both to users of the system and the service delivery functions. Typically, this could take the form of investigating and resolving problems by providing information about thesystems whilst also including monitoring their performance.
- Planning, configuring, implementation and tuning of storage hardware and software, covering online storage (Storage Area network, Networked-Attached Storage, Direct Attached Storage), offline storage (backup, archiving), remote and offsite data storage(disaster recovery).
- Investigation into unauthorised access, compliance with relevant legislation and the performance of other administrative duties relating to security management.
- The resolution (both reactive and proactive) of problems throughout the information system lifecycle, including classification, prioritisation and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies to prevent future incidents.
- The installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of physical databases.

**Who are we looking for?**

Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:
Essential:

- ITIL Foundation level or equivalent recognised IT service provision qualification.
- Prior experience within an IT with a background in either a support role, technical support, or technical consultancy.
- Numerical and written skills.

Desirable:

- Previous proven track record of contributing within the whole support lifecycle.
- Knowledge of computer architecture and fundamentals necessary to influence the way the company utilises computer systems.
