_**Job Purpose**_

To ensure the efficient and effective running of the collection and delivery activities within the business, through supporting the Transport Manager (TM) in providing service excellence to our Customers. Focusing on health and safety, people management and efficient use of assets in the operating of a scheduling package with the objective to maximise fleet utilisation whilst ensuring company and legislative compliance of all transport related policies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate a scheduling package with the objective to maximise fleet efficiencies whilst maintaining an excellence customer experience.
- Dynamically route the fleet through a scheduling package daily with the objective to reduce the carbon footprint of the fleet.
- Complete regular strategic reviews of the service delivery profile in the case of loss and gain in business to ensure fleet optimisation is maintained.
- Support the tendering of any new business to ensure margin and profitability targets are maintained.
- Provide proactive service solutions to Customers for missed collections and ad-hoc services.
- Create a plan that maintains revenue and margin throughout the Xmas period.
- Deliver exceptional Customer service performance with the objective to achieve 100% OTIF (On time in Full).
- Use the daily driver information to enhance the service delivery plan in ensuring that anomalies reported are addressed.
- Check daily the scheduled plan versus actual executed, investigate any variances with the intention to improve the scheduled plan going forward, so actual is near to plan.
- Ensure that operational demands are met through effective utilisation of vehicles and appropriate staffing levels considering absences and holidays, this includes being proactive when handling all manpower planning activities.
- Review fleet management software regularly for tracking of routes and to identify Driver behaviour and improvements.
- Record subbed loads and analyse to identify when loads can be moved to our own fleet.
- Analyse and action where required relevant traffic modelling to identify areas that are low margin that potentially should be subcontracted.
- React to serious live incidents to divert vehicles and maintain as smooth an operation as possible.
- Ensure all schedules conform to legislation with planned breaks and do not exceed daily/weekly driving hours and duty.
- Produce high quality reports as requested and each month for the SMT.We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our team. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods and products from one location to another.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods and products
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize delivery times and reduce costs
- Monitor transportation routes to ensure they are efficient and cost-effective
- Work with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Manage transportation budgets and expenses
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations

**Skills**:

- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

**Salary**: From £26,500.00 per year
