The post holder will have a key role in supporting the implementation of a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a priority programme for the Trust, ICB and NHS England.

The post holder will work with staff across the Trust to ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of data prior to, during and upon completion of the data migration.

The post holder will also work closely with NHS England and ICB colleagues and the National Team where required.

The post holder will provide support across the Trust to improve the processes in data recording in order to improve the quality of data held on Trust clinical systems.

Provide expert help and advice to system users throughout the Trust as and when required, to ensure accuracy and completeness of data input is maintained and improved upon.

Assist the organisation in the improvement of data quality across all operational teams in line with Data Dictionary definitions, promoting the importance and a greater understanding of the need for good data quality throughout the organisation.

Work closely with all relevant departments to develop appropriate documentation and reports to improve the quality of information provided from all information flows.

Leadership

Motivate and persuade all disciplines of staff necessary to achieve accurate and timely data.

Attend meetings to promote data quality and ensure delivery of the Data Quality Improvement Plan, discussing issues arising from audits and reports and provide suggestions for solutions.

To work autonomously to achieve agreed objectives, working within departmental and organisational policies; reporting and escalating as appropriate.

Encourage effective team working and promote a reflective and learning culture where improvement is constant.

Technical/Service Development

To develop and implement departmental procedures and guidelines, ensuring they are embedded within the team

Monitor policies, procedures and guidelines; proposing changes to improve data quality.

Assist the organisation in the improvement of data quality across all operational teams in line with Data Dictionary definitions, promoting the importance and a greater understanding of the need for good data quality throughout the organisation.

Provide expert help and advice to system users throughout the Trust as and when required, to ensure accuracy and completeness of data input is maintained and improved upon.

Develop close relationships with the users by making regular work place visits and identify potential data quality problems through links with the users.

Develop and maintain audit reports and improvement plans to comply with Information Governance, providing regular reports to show progress and actions plans.

Analyse complex and sensitive data to identify data quality issues and create, develop and maintain data quality reports; ensuring action is taken to amend anomalies found.

To analyse and interpret complex information from a number of different sources, using judgement to determine correct outcomes of data quality investigations when information is not clearly defined.

Work closely with all relevant departments to develop appropriate documentation and reports to improve the quality of information provided from all information flows.

Education and Training

Plan and develop training requirements based on needs analysis, liaising directly with staff/groups responsible for data quality issues across the Trust.

Deliver targeted core training in a number of different processes and specialist training in data quality.
