Medical Typist

Our Breast Unit in our surgery division are looking for a medical typist to join our friendly team on a full time fixed term (10 month) basis.

You will provide an effective and efficient typing service to Consultant and Junior Medical Staff. Other duties include incoming and outgoing and general office administrative duties. You will be required to work as part of a team and have a flexible attitude to work and provide cover during periods of staff absence.

Assist in the provision of a comprehensive typing and secretarial service within the department including typing clinical and general correspondence, opening the mail, answering the telephone, etc to support team members.

Comprehensive use of in-house patient information systems to check information on patients, outpatient appointments and results.

Assist with Choose and Book (EBS) and paper referral process to ensure patient appointments are allocated accurately and efficiently in line with 18 week targets.

Input data into a computerised patient database systems and access them to enquire of patient’s details.

Filing letters and reports into patient medical notes.

Electronically track patients notes in and out of the department/area.
