Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced Export Freight Shipping Specialist to support a team based in Malton North Yorkshire

**The Role**

You will be championing the performance and continuous improvement of the Order & Export (O&E) processes and leading in the effective end to end process of shipping perishable goods internationally.

You will use your experience and knowledge to assist the team in achieving and exceeding all objectives of the function to a consistent high standard.

**Duties**
- Negotiation of freight sales and rates with shipping lines and with customers
- The role is to work as part of a team leading in the day-to-day fulfilment of the end-to-end process of shipping perishable goods internationally including Booking, Route Planning and Communicating Vessel times etc, in line with the agreed Service Level Agreement with our customers.
- The role works closely with Site, freight forwarders and external warehouses to complete core tasks of raising and releasing orders, amending information, and communicating with Customers, Operations, Freight Forwarders and Account Managers.
- Measuring and reporting of KPIs to site/ group management.
- Ensure completion of all export shipping documentation in line with internal, customer and government requirements.
- Maintain an administrative system appropriate to the needs of the department, including international sales.
- Manage any escalations and further escalating as required to ensure prompt resolution.
- Ensure accurate administration and maintenance of all documentation where necessary.
- Proactively manage orders from receipt through delivery, and by partnering with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to ensure best in class results.
- Determine root cause and identify ways to improve performance and proactively reduce service level impact.
- To follow & achieve agreed performance targets.
- Effectively work with other parties to overcome any supplier queries by identifying and overcoming obstacles
- Ensure compliance with local legislation and regulatory requirements relating to business activities in every country where we are active.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff, to help the team to achieve goals set by the manager.
- Act decisively under challenging conditions and take full responsibility and accountability for actions to ensure standards of excellence are achieved.

**The Person**
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Export Freight.
- Knowledge and experience of export processes and documentation for product entry to US, China, South Korea, Australia, and South African markets.
- Experience (preferred not essential) of negotiating international freight sales/ rates within shipping lines/ customers.
- Experience with Operations and Supply Chain Management and Planning.
- Ability to build strong relationships both internally within the team and externally with customers.
- Good communication skills with the capability to communicate confidently internally & externally
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Able to work within an agreed established framework and cope with pressure, working to deadlines and targets demonstrating a positive 'can do' attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to report accurately.
- IT Literate with experience of processing computer-based data.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity, and ethical awareness.
