Appointment Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Records Appointment Coordinator working 30 hours (08:00 - 14:00) per week. This permanent positions is well suited to an individual with previous Health Records experience and who is keen to progress in a busy and thriving, supportive workplace.

You will be primarily be based at Queen Margaret Hospital but depending on needs of the service may be required to provide cover at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

The Health Records Department provides multi-hospital / multi-section comprehensive 24-hour Health Records Service across Fife incorporating Clinical Coding, Information Management, Inpatient Services, Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit, Records Libraries, Scanning, Subject Access Requests, Outpatients, Waiting Times, Overseas Visitor Status and NHS Fife Switchboard.

Previous Admin / Clerical experience preferably in a Health Records department is essential as is a good working knowledge of Scottish Government Waiting Times Standards, 18-week RTT, New Ways and the Patient Access Policy. Consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate a willingness to learn and an enthusiasm for personal development. A knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality is preferred.

You must have the ability to prioritise and manage the day-to-day workload in a busy, fast paced environment. You must be able to follow instruction clearly and effectively and work with a high degree of accuracy. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative with mínimal supervision at times.

Good organisational & listening skills are essential as well as a flexible approach to working. A good level of English language competency and good communication skills necessary to perform this role safely and effectively are required.
