**Interim Head of Property Tax**

LHH are partnered with a fortune 500 company who are looking for an Interim Head of Property Tax to join them on a minimum period of 6 months.

They have a team of over 20 tax colleagues based in their UK head office, as well as over 30 tax colleagues across their international markets.

Reporting to the Group Tax Director, the Interim Head of Tax will be a key member of the leadership tax team where you will lead and manage all tax related property matters across the group. You'll be delivering on the group's tax strategy, providing inputinto business plans and projects relating to property and supporting on tax reporting on property matters.

**Responsibilities**
- Tax lead for the simplification of the group's property companies, joint ventures and funding structures working closely with the groups Property, Treasury, Legal and Finance teams to drive efficiency.
- Advising on group wide acquisition, disposal, and new joint venture arrangements for property, with consideration across all taxes.
- Business partnering, providing property tax input into the business' projects and plans and representing tax on the Property Forum.
- Working with their Head of Corporate Tax to maintain and further develop their ongoing relationship with HMRC on property tax matters. Responding to HMRC enquiries, working in real time with HMRC where possible.
- Ensuring the tax accounting of property transactions is understood and recorded as well as assessing and advising on the impact of accounting changes on property such as IFRS 16.
- Reporting tax risks and recommending risk mitigation steps in relation to properties.
- Work with the Tax Director to brief the CFO, Audit Committee and Board as well as their senior finance community on property tax related matters.
- Maintain and build relationships with tax advisors in the main markets in which the group operates.

**You will need**
- Extensive knowledge of UK and international property tax matters in the context of a large group.
- Experience of working within a tax team of a large UK head quartered group or in a senior advisory role within the profession to UK PLC clients.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and experience in working in a multi-cultural environment to build working relationships with company CFOs, finance teams, external advisers, tax authorities and across the tax team.
