**Role: Marketing and Communications Assistant**
**Salary: £13,784 ( FTE £22,913 ) Part-Time 22.5 hours over 3 days, Monday, Friday and 1 other**
**Location: Whiston, Rotherham**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Create and edit communications copy (e.g. press releases, publications, social media posts)
- Help to maintain web content and implementation of social media strategies.
- Track projects and media exposure as well as update databases and media lists.
- Oversee internal communications and distribution channels.
- Help in researching, writing and editing content for distribution including photos and videos.
- Support the development of public relations and promotional materials including the creation and distribution.
- Support with the co-ordination and delivery of local and national internal and external events including staff conference, community events, etc
- Undertake general administrative duties such as answering telephone calls, preparing presentations, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements
- Collect data, prepare reports/presentations and evaluate the status of the organisation’s public image and make recommendations for expanding or improving this.
- To participate in local and national training and development opportunities and to take responsibility for personal learning and development
- To undertake additional reasonable tasks as reasonably requested commensurate with the post.
**Essential**
- Previous work experience as a communications or marketing assistant
- Proven skills and experience in marketing communications, web content management, social media marketing and / or public relations
- Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills.
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Good customer service skills.
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
**Desirable**:
- Educated to degree level in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
- Working knowledge of content management systems.
