Assistant Credit Controller

The food manufacturing company has five popular brands under its umbrella and has quickly become one of the largest wholesalers and distributors of oriental and Asian foods in the UK and Europe
They are currently recruiting for an **Assistant Credit Controller** to join their finance team, working directly underneath the senior Credit Controller.
Working hours are **Monday-Friday**, with **flexible start and finish times** (8.00am-17.00pm or 9.00am-18.00pm being what most employers chose to work).
The salary for this role is anywhere from **£24,000 - £26,000**, your experience depending
This role is **fully office based**.
Duties and responsibilities as an Assistant Credit Controller;
- Ensure that debts are paid to terms.
- Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the Company.
- Daily blocked orders are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
- Efficient use of system - complete workflow actions with accurate notes.
- Communicate regularly with senior personnel to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.
- Prepare accounts for pre legal action.
- Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness.
- Handle disputed invoices and support negotiation to bring payment within terms.
- Provide accurate advice on queries.
- Identify client issues impacting prompt payment. Understand a client’s billing and payment process cycle and propose and drive resolutions.
- Operate with and manage invoicing on client portals.
- Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries.
- Undertake account reconciliations as required.
- Support and deliver all company policies, procedures, and corporate governance.
- Support cash postings and reconciliations
- Manage credit note requirements
They are looking for someone who can Provide cover as and when required for other team members, who can support sales in speedy resolution of customer’s disputes and also someone who will maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Person Specification of the Assistant Credit Controller;
- Fluent in English and Urdu (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- 1+ years’ experience in credit control
- Good keyboard skills and competence of Excel and Word
- High standard of numeracy, accuracy with attention to detail
- A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn.
- Outgoing and confident personality who can operate at all levels & build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
- A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals.
- Good standard of education
- Strong organisational & time management skills
- Ability to recognise potential risks that should be escalated
