**Contract Type: Temporary for 12 months**

We are looking for a Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor to join our Estates & Facilities Management Team on a temporary basis for 12 months. The Estates Services Tam are responsible for leading, managing, controlling and co-ordinating estates, surveying and construction services across South Yorkshire Police.

As a Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor will be responsible for inspecting and reporting on work required to repair and maintain police buildings.

**Key responsibilities will be**:

- Undertaking design work on minor capital and planned maintenance schemes
- Leading on the implementation and management of corporate facilities systems relating to security and intruder alarms
- Management of automatic meter readers (AMR)
- Providing specialist advice on any new schemes relating to mechanical, electrical, security and access installations
- Preparing concise technical reports making recommendations
- Preparing scheme briefs and business cases to secure funding
- Assisting with running planned maintenance programmes relating to mechanical and electrical plant within the Force buildings

**Skills and experience**:

- Practical working knowledge in the area of Facilities Management, engineering and experience in the maintenance of buildings and building services
- Currently holds a recognised qualification in Building Services engineering and/or facilities management to Level 3 - City & Guild/ONC etc and be able to demonstrate supervisory/management experience
- Current experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and an Asset Management System
- Knowledge of current health & safety legislation, and buildings regulations
- Ability to travel throughout the Force area
- An ability to work outside normal working hours and/or attend conferences/workshops on behalf of the Force which may necessitate overnight stays
