The fast paced and energised environment relies on organisation and efficiency and with so much ground to cover in the line of duty it is important to ensure that you have a moderate level of fitness to enable you to comfortably carry out your tasks.

**This role provides a varied range of responsibilities each day. These include**:
Assisting in unloading vehicles and checking in of goods received.

Sorting and placing goods onto racks and shelving, ensuring safe handling and storage.

Collecting items from throughout the warehouse, preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to a schedule.

Loading and wrapping stock on pallets.

Ensuring the warehouse is tidy and ensuring the safety of the work environment.

Marking and labelling stock.

Storing inventory in an accessible manner.

Inspecting goods for damages and faults and communicating any faults to relevant parties.

Picking and packing products can involve a substantial amount of manual handling including bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and lifting. Having a good range of mobility is important to ensure you can work safely within health and safety regulations without placing undue strain on your body.

You may be required to carry out additional hours when necessary or appropriate from time to timeto fulfil the role or specification. This may include the need to work unsociable hours and weekends.

**Essential**:

- Good levels of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Demonstratable experience of having worked as a Warehouse Operative or having worked in a similar role.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Able to work well with others.
- Personally motivated.
- Able to work as part of a team to achieve team and organisational goals and targets.
- Able to work independently, using own initiative to organise, plan and complete own tasks and workload.
- Able to reason and judge actions of self and others against health and safety best practice and requirements, highlighting where improvements and developments are required.
- Recognises priorities when problem solving and identifies deviations and required action for resolution.
- Ability to organise, multitask and prioritise on own initiative, including when under pressure and meeting deadlines, with mínimal support.
- Ability to work flexibly and be open to changing priorities and demands.

**Desirable**:

- Demonstratable experience of having at least 2 years’ experience working as a Warehouse Operative or having worked in a similar role.
- Health and Safety qualification.
- Manual Handling qualification.
- Reach forklift license, Counterbalance forklift licence or Bendi forklift licence.
