Ripon Cathedral is seeking to appoint a part time Verger for around 3 half day shifts per week plus occasional overtime to join its Verger Team.

The purpose of this role is to be part of the Verger Team at Ripon Cathedral who are involved in:

- assisting in the preparation of services;
- overseeing the security of the building when open;
- being part of the team involved in the presentation, care and maintenance of the Cathedral;
- working with the Clergy and other cathedral staff to ensure the delivery of events.

Experience is preferred but not essential. You will be highly organised, an excellent communicator, have a flexible approach, the ability to work using your own initiative and as part of a team. Sympathy with the values and ethos of the Cathedral is desirable.

The shifts are on a rota across Monday-Sunday.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
