Overview:
We are currently seeking a competent cook and food prep to join our team at our café bar and lifestyle shop in Caversham, Berkshire.

You will be super organised, highly efficient and super reliable, team player, highly professional with great attention to detail, food presentation

Duties include;
- Preparing morning goods
- Slicing vegetables, cheese, meat and other ingredients
- Accurately labelling and storing food items correctly
- Preparing and cooking food in accordance with the highest Food Safety Standards
- Maintaining ingredient stocks
- Preparing toasties, filled croissants, salads, dressings, sauces and more
- Planning the daily kitchen duties in line with the prep list
- Adhering to strict food hygiene and personal hygiene requirements at all times
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes consistently
- Assisting in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes
- Assisting with the management of health and safety
- Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices
- Managing and training any chef's assistants
- Monitoring portion and waste control
- Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards

In addition you should be able to;
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to manage other team members
- Ability to produce good quality food consistently with excellent presentation
- Team Management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Good level of numeracy
- Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you
- Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
- Positive and approachable manner
- Team player qualities
- Excellent level of English spoken and written

Desirable and useful but not necessary qualifications include:

- Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
- Level 3 Food Safety Awards

Salary range: £12.50-14.50ph

12-14hrs pr week - Fridays and Saturdays - example hours 8.00am - 2.30pm
