Principal Environmental Consultant with

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time Principal Environmental Consultant to join our International Projects Team. We are flexible on location and the role can be based from our offices in either Helsby (Cheshire), Bristol, Glasgow or Manchester. We will also consider a combination of working from home and office.

We work with major clients to meet the stringent environment and social requirements of lending institutions including IFC, EBRD and ADB. We have a strong track record and current projects spanning the UK, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the FSU. We boast an excellent track-record for delivering high quality ESIAs and EMPs on time and within budget.

**Responsibilities to include**
- Managing and overseeing ESIA projects and other environmental studies, including successful delivery, client management and financial control
- Coordination of multi-disciplinary teams
- ESIA reports, ESIA screening and/or scoping reports and environmental report documentation preparation and editing
- ESMS / ESMP preparation
- Environmental and social due diligence on behalf of project lenders or developers
- Working with regulators and liaising with clients
- Providing advice on a wide range of environmental issues
- Pro-active business development to identify new opportunities and win profitable new business
- Client relationship management to support repeat business
- Co-ordination of major tenders, and preparation of smaller tenders
- Technical review of deliverables within their area of competence
- Mentoring of junior staff.

**Person specification**
- At least 10years experience in environmental assessment and or management
- Likely to hold full membership or chartered status of a professional body (for example IEMA)
- Proven technical ability, commercial awareness and project management skills
- Demonstrated experience of working with EBRD, IFC or other lender standards
- Good team player, with the ability to work autonomously
- Commitment to meeting client requirements and producing high quality reports - attention to detail a priority
- Enthusiastic and well organised
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, but additional language skills would be an advantage
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors would be essential: onshore renewable energy, energy storage, energy transmission and distribution, oil and gas, mining, rail, transport.
