**Building Control Surveyor**

Bristol

Permanent

£40,000 - £50,000 - DOE + Excellent Benefits + Car or Allowance

**The Client**

Our well-established client who covers residential warranties and also building control services are now looking to expand their team and are seeking a Building Control Surveyor.

**The Role**

The Building Control Inspector will be responsible for arranging and undertaking inspections of projects during construction to help ensure compliance the Building Regulations and associated guidance for residential developments.

**Key Responsibilities**

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Undertaking inspection of works
- Producing detailed records of all inspections undertaken
- Ensuring that all project records are on the database
- Ensuring at completion of works that all relevant inspections have been carried out and any defects/non-conformities have been addressed before final certification is issued
- Carrying out duties in accordance with QMS procedures
- Delivery of a consistent service and building effective client relationships
- Provide mentoring and support towards the training and development of our trainee and assistant building control surveyors
- Undertaking, where required, inspections on behalf of the wider ICW Group and in line with service level agreements

**Experience and Qualifications Required**
- An excellent understanding of building regulations
- Excellent problem
- solving skills.
- A tactful approach
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Time management skills and organisation ability
- Excellent team working skills, with the ability to work effectively alone
- Membership of (RICS, CABE, CIOB) or working towards
- At least 3 years practical experience in the construction industry
- Demonstrable experience in the ability to interpret plan appraisal of residential and mixed
- use developments
- Full UK driving license
- Proficient in MS Office
- Building control inspection experience
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and environmental issues

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience of ISO 9001 practices and procedures
- Experience working within the warranty business is desirable
