Apprentice Painter and Decorators

APPRENTICE PAINTER AND DECORATORS ( x 4 positions)

We are currently offering 4 year CITB apprenticeships for Painting & Decorating, located in Fenwick, Kilmarnock.

Apprentices will be trained in all aspects of Painting & Decorating. Some examples are:
Difference in systems for new and pre-decorated surfaces.

Types of preparation methods including removal of previous coatings and wall coverings using hand tools, power tools and chemicals.

Specialist decorative techniques for example, graining, marbling and gilding.

When the apprentices are working, they will be supervised by a fully qualified member of staff and will be shown all the correct procedures including health and safety in the workplace. Along with ensuring that their work area is clean and safe, and that all the tools are cleaned and put away correctly at the end of each day.

**Working Week and Pay**

Apprentices will be expected to work a minimum of 30 hours a week and a maximum of 40 hours a week with exception for college.

Schedule:

- 8.5 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Some overtime may be required
- Must be able to commute to Fenwick for 7am Monday to Friday

**Salary**: £5.28-£10.18 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kilmarnock: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- painting: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- CSCS (preferred)
- Driving Licence (required)
