**Job overview**:
**We have an exciting opportunity within HMR Children's Integrated Community Services for a Support Secretary to join our dedicated team.**

To provide professional, comprehensive and confidential administrative support to the relevant health professionals and their team. This includes the audio typing and formatting of correspondence, clinic letters, reports and policies from handwritten, dictated, paper, or electronic information in line with Trust corporate guidelines and any other duties as required.

To work collaboratively with other administrative colleagues and support staff. In return you will join a supportive team environment.

**Main duties of the job**:
The role involves supporting a team of Consultants and other health professionals. You should have excellent audio typing skills and experience (preferably within an NHS setting) and be computer literate with a broad experience of Microsoft Office packages. An understanding of medical terminology would also be an advantage. You will need to be highly organised with a flexible approach to your work and have excellent communication and team working skills. You will need to be self-motivated to manage your own working time effectively.

**Education / Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Good level of general education.
- RSA 3 / NVQ3 or equivalent, e.g. Information technology qualification, or training or relevant business or administration qualification

**Desirable criteria**:

- ECDL qualification
- AMSPAR qualification
- Paris trained

**Knowledge, skills Training and experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Working experience of Microsoft software.
- Minute and note taking experience
- Demonstrative experience working within an administrative role.
- Sound knowledge of office procedures, systems and practices
- Organisational skills
- Good verbal and written skills
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people, including managers, staff partners, other organisations and individuals
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Excellent spelling, grammatical, composition and numeracy skills.
- Excellent keyboard skills
- Planning and organisational skills to prioritise and manage own workload, working independently as required.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Audio typing experience / qualification
- Ability to analyse large sources of data and produce into meaningful information, graphs and charts.
- NHS or healthcare experience or experience of working in public sector
- Experience of using an electronic patient appointment and record system
- E-referral

- Ability to work flexibly
- Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
