The Bank Staffing Service is looking to provide experienced housekeeping staff to fill vacant short term roles across the Trust, working in a variety of mental health and learning disability settings as and when required.

You will work closely and alongside other Housekeepers to maintain high standards of cleanliness and be responsible for providing excellent hotel services. You should have previous experience of domestic cleaning duties and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. Your skills should also extend to being able to maintain accurate written records and additionally you should possess excellent communication skills.

General cleaning of all corridors and areas within the site.

Following work schedules, which includes opening and locking up of the building, emptying of bins, hovering of rooms and corridors, cleaning of toilets and clinical areas, cleaning carpets, washing of walls.

Disposal of all rubbish following recycling guidelines.

Follow Trust Policies and guidance relevant to the role.

Request cleaning materials and stores, keeping adequate stock levels.

To carry out duties having due regards for Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations.

To ensure products, equipment and materials are used appropriately and in the correct manner to ensure safe cleaning and the best results.

Make / Change beds, check curtains and change / wash as necessary

Collection and storage of clean linen. Bag up dirty linen following the correct colour coding

Prompt removal of waste and collection and replacement of domestic and clinical waste sacks in accordance with the guidelines and procedures

Check personal clothing for faults/damage and report to Ward Manager or other person in charge

Preparation, of light snacks, salads and sandwiches and involvement with food service

Ensure that food and beverages are provided and served in line with

Trust policies and Ward practices

Care and cleaning of crockery, equipment and machinery. Maintain records as required

To receive and check food supplies

Maintain records relating to equipment, food temperatures and stock

Control

Promptly report all defects, breakages, low stock levels, accidents and incidents to the Senior Housekeeper or person in charge

Advise nursing staff of any concerns in relation to the hygiene state of patients or their rooms

Adhere to existing arrangements for the monitoring of water temperatures to prevent the development of Legionella

To follow Operational Policies for the Ward or Unit where the shift is being worked

Service Development

To attend supervision as arranged

To attend training and refresher training regarding Health and Safety, Fire, Food Hygiene and other mandatory training as required.
