Environmental Advisor

Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas operator, based in Wareham, Dorset, are currently seeking an Environmental Advisor to join their team.

This is an onshore, office-based role, working Monday - Friday, on a 12-month contract.

**Job purpose**:
As the Environmental Advisor, you will provide competent and proactive environmental support to the onshore operation in Dorset. You will ensure the sites compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, codes of practice, guidelines and industrystandards. You will be required to integrate technical information from a number of fields, to assess the environmental implications of operations and new developments.

**Essential**:

- Do you have a BSc in Environmental Management or Similar?
- Do you have 1-2 years environmental management experience?
- Are you experienced working in the environmental field of a high risk or highly permitted industry?

**Key Responsibilities for the Environmental Advisor Include**:

- Ensure the company complies with all legislative requirements from an environmental standpoint (including external reporting, licenses, consents and notifications).
- Key point of contact for UK ETS data tracking and site monitoring requirements.
- Review existing conditions and reporting requirements of the EPR Permits.
- Support with the review of permit submissions to the regulator.
- Support the development of the environmental plan that sets out the key initiatives and milestones for delivery.
- Support the maintenance of ISO14001 accreditation and the certification audit process.
- Complete programmed Audits & Inspections as scheduled.
- Support the development and review of the Environmental SEMS documents.
- Support the submission of all internal and external reporting.
- Coordinate the monitoring and review of environmental legislative changes and the potential impact on the business.
- Reviewing environmental monitoring data and identifying trends (eg. Air, noise, groundwater).
- Undertake site visits to review and support management in their completion of investigations.
- Improve workforce awareness of environmental issues through presentations and coaching during site visits and audits.
- Identify environmental training, competency and awareness requirements and liaise with HR in the recording and tracking of competence.
- Member of the IMT.
- Provide input into the development of project environmental permits

**Experience/Personal Attributes**:
**Preferred**:

- A sound knowledge of the UK regulatory environmental framework and how it can be influenced.
- Sound knowledge of emissions management and emissions trading schemes.
- Trained environmental auditor.

**Ability to**:

- Evaluate environmental impacts as business risks.
- Provide technical explanations to senior and operational staff.
- Influence multi-disciplined internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Work alongside leadership, be proactive and self-starting.
- Use personal credibility and relationships to educate and assist others.

As the Environmental Advisor, you will be able to build excellent relationships to influence & collaborate with peers & stakeholders to deliver mutual success. You will be organised and able to multi-task whilst displaying flexibility and strong prioritisationskills.
