Technical Writer

**Location - Middlesbrough (some travel may be required within the UK or abroad)**

**Salary**:Salary dependent on experience.

**Hours of Operation (core hours) - 39 per week**
- Monday to Thursday -07.00 to 15.30hrs.
- Friday - 07.00hrs to 14.30hrs.
- Additional time to be worked as required by specific jobs.

**Key Responsibilities**
***
The Technical Writer will be responsible for estimating and compiling work scopes and reports for dry-docking and repairs and large refit & conversion projects within the yard.

In addition to the technical writing function, this role will also support the other technical departments to ensure that all reports are completed on time.

**Skills And Knowledge**
- Good working knowledge of ship repair, shipbuilding and or heavy engineering including factory maintenance.
- Must be able to prepare and maintain detailed reports for projects.
- Must be able to attend and participate at Project Progress Meetings and other meetings as required.
- Must be able to understand and interpret technical specifications and drawings in order to produce work scopes.
- Must be able to support other departments and communicate with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers, project management teams and production departments.

**Qualifications**
- Full UK driving licence required.

**Knowledge**
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (Word and Excel).
