Speciality Registrar in Restorative Dentistry/Clinical Lecturer

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Dental Surgeons for the post of Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the Aberdeen Dental Hospital and Institute of Dentistry. This is an eight-year fixed term appointment, and a Specialty Registrar National Training Number in Restorative Dentistry is available with this post based at the Aberdeen Dental Hospital & Institute of Dentistry.

The duration of the appointment will permit completion of specialty training in Restorative Dentistry and a PhD degree. The Honorary StR post has the approval of the Postgraduate Dental Dean and the programme has been recognised by the Specialist Advisory Committee for a training programme leading to the eligibility to sit the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Restorative Dentistry.

You will be employed by the University of Aberdeen and also be awarded an honorary contract with NHS Grampian. This post provides training in academic Restorative Dentistry which includes a five-year programme of specialty training based on the Curriculum for Specialty Training in Restorative Dentistry.

The holder of the post will be expected to register for and complete a PhD Degree of the University of Aberdeen and complete clinical training, to be eligible for the award of a CCST in Restorative Dentistry and for inclusion on the Specialist List.

The postholder will be supported in their role by experienced academic, clinical and professional services support colleagues within the Institute, NHS Grampian and the wider University.

All applicants must be eligible for registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) in the United Kingdom.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical scale for Academics below level of Consultant, £38,704 - £73,544 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
