crooton are working with a well-established logistics company based in Peterlee and they are looking to recruit a Freight Forwarding Planner to join their team on a full-time basis.

**Hours-Full time**

**Purpose of the role**:
To maintain and develop Compliance, Operational Excellence, Quality and Innovation of the Transport provision of both General Haulage and TPN within the business. Effectively and continuously help manage the transport activities required under the company’s Operators Licence safely and compliantly.

**Main Duties**:

- Make arrangements to ensure that vehicles are not overloaded and that all loads are strapped and secure
- Ensure all Driving Licence checks are completed and recorded accurately
- Carry out set amount of Driver Audit Checks weekly
- Ensure drivers are parking up in safe areas - NOT Lay-bys
- Manage drivers times and ensure correct routes are taken. Monitor using Samsara system
- Maintain and manage accurate administrative records including the TOPS system and traffic boards
- Day to day management of a team of administration staff and drivers
- Arrange for the induction and training of all new staff

**About you**:

- You will have at least 2 years of experience in a transport planning role
- Must be a CPC holder
- You will have experience in subcontracting, planning and freight forwarding
- You will have experience and understanding of compliance and what that entails
