Ambulance Driver

**The Role**
We are seeking a Veterinary Ambulance Driver to join our team in Coventry

The ambulance provides an essential service collecting and returning patients from branches to the hospital for procedures or hospitalisation.

We are seeking a caring and conscientious individual, comfortable around animals and the handling of small and large crates.

This is a full-time position working a total of 40 hours per week. Shift times will be 11.00 - 20.00 Monday - Friday.

You will be required to take the ambulance home at the end of your shift.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Transport Patients with care and understanding
- Be able to keep the ambulance clean and fresh including equipment, cages etc
- Carry out routine checks on the ambulance to ensure safety [Oil, Water, Tyres, wipers, lights, brakes]
- Be responsible for organising routine services and MOTs
- Ensure the Vehicle represents the company image in a positive way
- Transfer of all documentation, medications, and items of the patients accurately where applicable.
- To always drive responsibly.
- To observe and comply with parking regulations

**Skills and Experience**
- Good standard of secondary education
- Full UK driving licence with no convictions
- Flexibility with hours worked
- Ability to drive in high traffic areas and differing weather conditions with due care and attention
- Knowledge of animal health, wellbeing, and behaviour
- Ability to work under pressure
- An understanding of confidentiality and data protection
- At least two years driving experience
- Experience with animal handling
- Advanced driving qualification desirable
- Hours by discussion depending on the requirements of the region.
- Ability to be able to store the ambulance overnight and at weekends
