Job Description - Seasonal Weekend Assistant - Garden Centre (March to November)
Downham Home & Garden is one of Norfolk’s largest Home & Garden Centre retailers. We have one
of the biggest and best ranges of quality home products, clothing, plants and gardening equipment
around.
Our general assistants are key to creating the right atmosphere for our customers. Promoting our
productions and being a willing support is very important and this is where out team is vital in the
success of our store.
The Role:

- Greeting customers who enter the store
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of all fixtures, equipment and fabric of the shop premises
- Promoting special offers in-store
- Prepared to carry out arduous work, either physical or mental
- Assisting shoppers with finding the goods and products that they require, upselling additional

products where possible
- Moving, replenishing and pricing stock, ensuring aligned to correct shelf edge tickets
- Processing customer transactions via the tills
- Reporting any issues to the Store Manager
- Collection of trolleys
- Willing to take on reasonable additional responsibility as necessary
- All other garden centre duties as required such as watering plants
- Assisting the company and colleagues by carrying out such duties away from usual areas of

work as may reasonably be required
**Requirements**:

- Good communication skills
- Outgoing bubbly personality
- Can do attitude and willingness to get the job done
- Experience in retail (desirable)
- Experience in a garden centre environment (optional, training provided

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months

**Salary**: £7.33-£10.42 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 6 per week
