**Company Description**

**Great Bear** is a leading 3rd party UK logistics business providing nationwide dedicated and shared user warehousing and distribution solutions for international blue chip clients.
We operate in excess of 9 million sq. ft. of warehousing and operate a large modern commercial vehicle fleet, coupled with an extensive added value service offering.

As an Operations Controller, you will manage an optimal workflow both through the warehouse and the vehicle yard. You will help maximise productivity and MHE capability based on pallet movement. You will ensure all loading schedules and profiles are maintainedand that customer orders are despatched in a timely manner, in line with operational KPIs.
- Efficiently manage the work schedule in order to maintain pallet and pick movements within the warehouse based on the priority of bookings.
- Manage the schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met, ensuring that all loads are on the system
- Ensure aisle change procedure is managed in accordance with Freedom.
- Manage and update the booking system in real time.
- Work closely with the Operations and Distribution Administrators to manage yard movements and trailer allocations.
- To communicate issues to the Shift Manager in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
- Maintain good communication with transport providers in order to assist with any booking or collection issues.
- Issue instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work ensuring the pick profile is maintained.
- Liaise with management to manage MHE, including VNAs, ensuring that all SSOW are followed.
- Control paperwork for outbound vehicles ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Adhere to Health & Safety Legislation and ensure all Company policies and procedures for Health & Safety are carried out.

**Qualifications**
- Fully proficient PC skills
- Able to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
- A detailed understating of Autostore Warehouse Management System.
- Experience in the use of a CCTV system.
- Be able to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
- Should have good oral and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills, with experience of MS Office including Word and Excel.
- Understanding of the booking system.
- Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patters in order to cover for absence and holidays.
- Positive attitude to managing change.
