**Role and Responsibilities**:
To ensure operational policies and procedures implemented by Nursery Time Franchise are adhered to, ensuring relevant legislation is met.

To contribute to inspiring and ambitious practice.

Assist with Head Office Quality Improvement Visits and Inspections.

Adhere to Health and Safety Policies and risk assessments, hazard logs as set out in the operational plan.

To participate in the emergency and security procedures such as emergency evacuation, door security and e-safety.

Be alert to issues of safeguarding, ensuring that the welfare and safety of the children and adults is paramount, recording and reporting any concerns to the DSL.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in practice, ensuring relevant documentation is completed as required.

Active involvement in staff meetings, which support continually evolving high standards of practice.

To work with colleagues in room planning, observation and assessment to ensure the provision of a stimulating environment with a balance of challenging and inspiring child/adult lead activities reflecting children’s individual needs and interests.

To understand key children’s culture, level of development and identify next steps with line managers support.

To ensure the detailed record keeping for key children’s development maintaining these records on a regular basis with quality meaningful observations and assessments and to involve parents in the process of planning, under the supervision of line managers.

Support the settling in of new children in sensitive manner, liaising closely with parents and staff to ensure home life and children’s interest are utilised for reassurance.

To participate in informative, professional and welcoming show rounds to prospective customers.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive family information whilst adhering to child protection policy and procedures.

Contribute to nursery communication with parents via newsletters, parent’s evenings, open days/evenings, building and maintaining strong key person relationships.

To undertake such other duties as reasonably respected by the Manager to work in a flexible way when occasions that tasks arise which are not specifically covered in their job description.

**Required Skills**:
Good IT skills - knowledge of different computer packages

Numerate and Literate

Good communication skills

Ability to work to tight timescales

Able to work as part of a team, as well as individually

Able to deal with children/parents sensitively and keep information confidential**Required Qualifications**:
Maths, English and ICT, GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent

**Training**:
Maths and English to Level 2 required, if not already achieved

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour in relation to

technical competencies

knowledge and understating

research activities

commercial awareness

managing challenging situations and taking ownership

health and safety

Ongoing assessment by the employer and provider - for example meetings with apprentice, employer and learning provider, observations of workplace, gathering evidence

Undertake a self-assessment in the last month of their apprenticeship to enable them to see whether they are confident that they have taken on board all aspects of the occupation. This self-assessment must be submitted to the independent end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for independent End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio; a project; an employer reference and a structured interview about their portfolio and project.**Prospects**:
