**Description of CoLP (if external advert)**:The City of London Police is currently looking for a Caseworker who would like to join our Criminal Justice Traffic Process Department.

**Description of Department**:
The Administration of Justice department consists of a number of different units that ensure successful communications and prosecutions across the criminal justice sector. This role currently will be specifically based within the Traffic process team of the department. This area is different to the other AOJ departments in that the work is generated from the traffic cameras within the City and not from officers across the force.

However within the role of caseworker in AOJ it is important to be able to assist the other teams if staffing requirements need it.

**AOJ Traffic caseworkers'specialize in the following areas;**

Processing traffic offences instigated from the traffic cameras within the City. Liaising with the courts and completing traffic casefiles to a high standard to ensure successful prosecutions ensuring we meet our partners demands and keep the City’s roads safe.

**Purpose of the Role**:
As a member of the Traffic Process Team you will be responsible for the compilation of documents to prosecute offenders, identified by way of enforcement cameras.The Team also administer all fixed penalty notices and other traffic process cases. They deal with correspondence in respect of these offences and manage them through the department’s bespoke IT systems.You will also administer the paperwork for offenders to attend driver re-education courses, payment of fines and preparation of summonses to be forwarded to the CJ Volume Crime Team for trial preparation
- Attention to detail ensuring accuracy within all their written work and communication.
- Must be enthusiastic, be able to operate under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A professional, resilient and ‘can do’ attitude to the service
- Willingness to learn and be a supportive colleague as the two officers need to work closely as a team to be effective.
- You will have a suitable level of IT Skills, to include MS Word and Excel,
- the ability to prioritise and take responsibility for your own workload, together with the ability to plan and organise.

**Desirable Criteria (If applicable)**:
It would be preferable if you possess knowledge of the Criminal Justice system, traffic legislation and experience of working in the Criminal Justice environment, this is not essential however the desire to learn this is.
