Project Controllers support Project Managers (PM's) and their teams in the delivery of Capital Projects. The role involves planning project activities, key milestones and costs across a variety of Projects ranging in complexity.. Updating Project to reflect Project progress and identifying issues and trends which could impact on the successful delivery of the Projects. You will assist with the management of Project risks and Project changes, record, track and update project outputs in line with regulatory commitments. Providing reports and information to enable the PM to make accurate and timely decisions about the Project. In addition they are to support the Senior Project Controller with tasks associated with team.

**Job Accountabilities**:

- Planning and maintaining Project plans and baselines with the Project Manager's
- Updating CPMS (Capital Programme Management System) with the Project Managers
- Monitoring Project dates and advising on corrective action.
- Planning and maintaining Project cost plans and baselines with Project Managers including UU resources and third party costs.
- Updating CPMS (Capital Programme Management System) with Project Managers.
- Monitoring Project costs and advising on corrective action.
- Ensure costs are booked to the correct codes.
- Helping PM's assess Project cost progress and reporting on the value of work undertaken.
- Posting accruals to reflect Project progress and actual costs to date.
- Assisting with Project change management.
- Supporting the Project teams when going through the change control process
- Ensuring that Project outputs are planned and reported in CPMS.
- Support Project Managers and Senior Project Controllers through:

- Preparing monthly summary reports to highlight project issues, risks and forthcoming milestones and actions, and prompting intervention as necessary.
- Review Month end reviews with Project Manager and Senior Project Controllers to identify trends / issues that have an impact to the success of a Project or Project Portfolio
- Provide the PM with ad hoc Project information about cost and schedule and highlight variances from the plan
- Use appropriate templates to track project cost and schedule performance.
- Build bespoke Project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS's) and activities in order to match the Project requirements for non-standard Projects.
- Undertake Project data quality checks and corrective action as directed by Senior Project Controllers
- Maintaining appropriate Project baselines. Ensuring Project Baselines are taken in line with programme Office guidelines i.e. at Key - PAC gateways

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Involvement in the delivery and/or support of Projects and a sound understanding of the Project life cycle.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Products including the intermediate use of Excel spreadsheets.
- Good analytical skills with an ability to organise and understand large amounts of information.
- Organising and running update and review meetings.
- Able to plan own time to achieve individual and team goals especially in line with the monthly business planning and update cycle.
- Producing monthly reports on schedule and costs performance for PM's and other project stakeholders
- Involvement and contribution towards achievement of team goals and objectives
- Ability to use one or all of the following business tools including: SAP, Primavera P6

**Additional Information**:
This is a hybrid working role offering a mix of site and home based working
- The role will be based in the Construction Partner Offices in Preston for the remainder of AMP 7 and for the foreseeable future depending on they AMP 8 contract strategy. Some travel to site offices around the region will be required.
- The ability to manage complex information requirements from the Delivery Teams, to allow effective management of the Capital Programme
- Contribution to business success by supporting development, implementation, and management of new business processes and systems whilst maintaining the team outputs to customers
- Working with and influencing the Programme Management Office, business managers, and others to ensure successful implementation of ideas and best practice
- Meeting demanding Company Business Plan targets
- Effective management of self-regarding cyclical workload with heavy periods at and around financial month end.
- This is a key role within a Capital Programme Management team ensuring delivery of Projects in line with Time, Cost and Quality drivers
