Workshop Foreman

Flexible Hours Mon to Friday 1hr unpaid lunch 40hrs per week

Responsible to Workshop Manager

You will take responsibility for the organisation and supervision of the workshop workload and staff as well as being involved hands on in the technical work. Working closely with the workshop Manager and Operations department you will prioritise the workload for the working day and maintain the electronic maintenance records for the vehicles.

Responsible for:

- Supervising the day-to-day operational needs and maintain good working practises within the workshop.This will include task allocation to the rest of the workshop team and provide support as required to maintain the smooth running of the workshop.
- Health & Safety compliance of workshop policies and administration including routine equipment safety inspections and safety walk round checks and wearing of all PPE
- Ensuring the workshop is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous practises or materials
- Maintaining effective communications with the Operations department and Transport Manager and drivers
- Ensuring required spares and parts are ordered in a timely and cost-effective manner to maximize vehicle availability
- Maintaining on the job training for other apprentices and other workshop staff
- Maintaining an effective safe breakdown policy and procedure
- Maintain a high MOT and DVSA roadside check pass rate
- Remain up to date with the latest vehicle technology, DVSA inspection standards, changes in MOT legislation and working practices
- Deputising for the workshop Manager in their absence including workshop phone coverage.
