The role:
This role is an exciting opportunity to become a key component of a fast-growing software development team at an industry leading vehicle technology company.

My client is looking for a DevOps infrastructure engineer to help support the growth of their industry leading telematics platform, and ready to undertake a career enhancing opportunity. This is a key stakeholder position, instrumental in the growth anddirection of their business.

You will be fully supported, using your skills and experience, to explore new technologies and how they can be implemented to continually improve my clients bespoke service.

Core Responsibilities:

- Management of our cloud server ecosystem; monitoring EC2/RDS and bare metal servers, executing automation and providing security assurance, with support from external managed service providers.
- Designing and deploying systems and methods of business continuity, monitoring, disaster proofing, load balancing, data replication/backup.
- Working closely with the Technical Director and other stakeholders to ensure overall robustness of our SaaS platform.
- Administering and managing regular security/pen testing and performance/load testing.
- Actively taking part in design, development, and operations of new services.
- Developing and maintaining the support procedures and processes.
- Supporting the internal software development team with continuous integration, improvements, testing, third-party integration, and roll out of new services.

Required Experience:

- Linux and Windows deployment and administration
- AWS experience: ideally EC2, RDS (MariaDB), Lambda, Redshift
- Strong in scripting languages, including python and PowerShell
- Cyber security, encryption, infrastructure management

Desired Experience:

- Extensive experience of managing AWS cloud technologies including firewall management (2+ years)
- Comprehensive understanding of REST and Web API’s, TCP/IP communication, video transcoding, geospatial data
- Experienced working in an Agile environment and closely with software development team
- Experience of working with ISO27001 and an appetite for cyber security

Skills (preferable):

- JavaScript: ReactJS, React native, NodeJS and Typescript
- C#/Python
- Web programming HTML/PHP/CSS
- Kubernetes/OpenShift/Docker
- SQL Database, querying and administration
- HTTPS and JSON querying
- Security and firewall design and maintenance
