**Job title**: Cleaner - Office and Workshop
**Reports to**: Facilities Manager
**Hours of work (Daily)**: Fixed - 5am - 8.30am (3.5hrs)
**Location**: Elland, Halifax
**Purpose of the role**
To maintain a visibly high standard of cleanliness, a safe and welcoming environment across the site; including offices, meeting rooms, workshop/warehouse area, break out rooms, restrooms etc. Including general cleaning but not limited to ; sweeping, mopping, use of mechanical cleaning machines, vacuuming, dusting surfaces, scrubbing, cleaning of glazed partitions and disinfecting restrooms. The maintenance of a and emptying bins etc. Working in line with Health and Safety regulations in all aspects of the role.
**Responsibilities**
- Performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, buffing, glass cleaning and polishing.
- Ensuring all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
- Protecting equipment and making sure there are no inadequacies.
- Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances.
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
- Responsible for removing waste in office /communal areas in the correct manner.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms daily.
- Responsible for cleaning of internal windows in conference rooms, management offices, etc.
- Perform dusting, disinfecting, and polishing of surfaces and furniture as needed.
- Responsible for reporting repairs and replacements encountered when executing daily tasks.
- To work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.

**Critical Skills Required**
- Taking ownership for the cleanliness of the site, it is visibly clean, hygienic and safe for all users.
- High attention to detail when cleaning and to ensure standard of finish is to the agreed standard.
- The ability to work with a sense of urgency without compromising on quality or the safety of you and others.
- Ability to manage own workload - self-motivated and able to independently prioritise tasks.
- Offer suggestions for improving efficiency.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, colleagues and visiting customers.
- Good communication skills to effectively follow written or verbal procedures.
- Well organised with the ability to follow a schedule, evaluating and adapt to changing circumstances.
**Critical Knowledge Required**
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, including chemicals and supplies, and methods used in office cleaning with attention to requirements for H&S. Desirable knowledge of COSHH
- Ability to follow and implement instructions for all cleaning materials and equipment.
- Understanding and monitoring of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
- Advantageous to have previous experience to operate automatic floor scrubbing machines, floor buffers, and wet and dry vacuums.
**Qualifications and Experience Required**
- Preferred previous experience as a Cleaner/Housekeeper.
