As a major division within the NSS, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale - through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
We are looking for a NMC/HCPC Registered practitioner to join our SNBTS Transfusion Team to promote the safe and appropriate use of blood and blood components through the development of national programmes of education, associated quality improvement and clinical effectiveness initiatives. You will be one of the named Transfusion Practitioners for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHS GGC), based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QUEH), and will work closely with NHS GGC staff. You will also work with colleagues across the NHS GGC as required and nationally as part of the wider SNBTS transfusion team.
The post-holder will be responsible for supporting safe transfusion practice and maintaining good communication channels across NHS GGC as well as supporting other areas covered by the SNBTS Transfusion Team west region.
**Location and Working Pattern**:
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. Currently hybrid working.
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
