Food Technologist

Our client, a global company in the agri-food sector, is dedicated to the development and production of cereal-based products, for retailers and food brand companies. They are looking for a Food Technologist with biscuit/bakery experience. You will bemanaging the development, through concept to launch, of a range of sweet and savoury products in a fast moving and innovative environment.
You will ensure all factory and quality requirements are met regarding allergen control and ingredient sourcing. Operating to best technical practices, maintain food safety, legality, quality, and customer requirements.

Location: Nottinghamshire
Your main duties are:

- Understanding project briefs and formulating recipe and project steps to ensure successful launch, within cost and nutritional limitations.
- Developing concept samples within cost and nutritional requirements to obtain customer signs off.
- Analysing technical data, forming trends and reports to influence decision making.
- Customer facing ensuring client confidence is maintained.
- Presenting samples and project status to customer.
- Organising samples for customer panel, sensory assessment, nutritional analysis, etc.
- Factory liaison to ensure optimum process parameters.
- Organising and conducting factory trials with the support of the factory and quality team.
- Liaising with internal team members to ensure all project requirements are observed, supply chain, procurement, quality, engineering, and production.
- Generating technical specifications and documentation to support launches and existing product development requirements.
- Driving innovation through the sourcing of new raw materials and seeking out new technologies.
- Qualification in food science or food technology.
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially with regard to food hygiene and safety.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Proven knowledge of factory processes.
- Proven experience in nutritional analysis.
- Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Team working and integration essential to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
