Trainee Fund Dealer

**Job Overview**

The role is to support the investment and dealing team in their day-to-day duties to ensure the company’s broad client base is delivered a timely and accurate service around all aspects of the dealing cycle.

**Reports To**

The Trainee Fund Dealer will report to the Head of Investment Management and Dealing.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assisting with the preparation of client trade requests across multiple asset classes.
- Liaise with internal accounting teams to resolve trade recapping and settlement queries.
- Post trade information distribution to clients and external parties.
- Assisting with daily reconciliation of trading systems.
- Analysis of trading activities to monitor best execution in line with company policies.
- Assisting with client request to open external accounts for onward investment.
- Preparation of reporting to internal committees on the activities of the team.
- Participate in the Investment Committee meetings.
- Communicating with brokers to maintain sub-account level information.
- Other ad-hoc tasks to assist the investment and dealing team in their daily duties.
- Career progression is a possibility if successful in this role.

**Person Specification**
- Numeracy skills, excellent technical proficiency, ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the more advanced features of the product including advanced formula use.
- Basic coding experience/familiarity with VBA would be advantageous, though not essential.
- Must be able to work efficiently under time pressure whilst remaining diligent and accurate.
- Ability to reprioritise tasks on the fly to respond to changing situations in a fast-paced time pressured environment.
- Enthusiastic and keen learner with good communication skills and ability work under own initiative.
- A requirement to pass a professional competency exam, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or the CFA Level 1 exam or an agreed alternative.
