**Laboratory Assistant**
The role will assist and support the Research Manager in research and development work, biology monitoring and feedstock control. The role will provide hands on support in the design, execution, analysis and evaluation of laboratory trials, to collate, process data and information
Approximately 50% of time will be spent on practical, hands on laboratory analysis and 50% of time will be spent on data entry, desk-based analysis and support to the Research team.
**Laboratory Assistant Responsibilities**:
You will provide feedback to relevant people to assist sites in conforming to PCPs and other protocols, carry out collation, data entry, critical evaluation and interpretation of plant monitoring and sampling data. Contribute to ad hoc experimental trials.
Evaluate the shortcomings of trials/apparatus and work with the relevant teams to rectify. Process samples in-house and prepare / co-ordinate the dispatch of samples for analysis by external laboratories
Collate, enter, critically evaluate and undertake basic interpretation of data. Sense check data for outliers or unusual data and highlight issues to relevant colleagues. Ensure all work you undertake conforms with the requirements of the Biogen QMS. Use, store and dispose of samples, chemicals and equipment appropriately
Complete or arrange completion of in-house and external maintenance, calibration and servicing of laboratory equipment, ensuring suitable records are maintained. Ensure all samples and analysis (internal and external) you are involved in are reliable and representative and undertaken in accordance with GLP
It is important to ensure high standards of H&S are maintained within the laboratory. Identify and highlight issues to the relevant Manager and work with them to correct any issues. The role will contribute towards regular audits, SHEQ checks and inspections.

**Location**: Westwood, Bedford Road, Rushden NN10 0SQ
**Job type**: Full Time, permanent, 40 hours per week, with occasional weekend work
**Salary**: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum dependant on experience
