**About the role**:
This role is home working, with travel around Bristol to meet with service users. As an IDVA you will:

- Identify & assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist
- Focus on & prioritise high-risk cases providing pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention
- Provide advocacy, and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance to clients & support them through the criminal justice system
- Participate fully in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference framework: refer clients to, attend and participate in meetings
- Maintain accurate & confidential case management records
- Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality & information sharing policy and procedures

You will need:

- To hold an IDVA qualification
- To understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse
- To understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
- Direct service delivery experience to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
- Experience of managing a complex caseload & the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Strong crisis management skills & the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
- This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
