The post holder works as a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (RNRU) at Homerton Healthcare. They will be responsible for the provision and coordination of the leisure and recreational component of inter-disciplinary rehabilitation for people completing rehabilitation at RNRU.

The RNRU is a 27 bedded inpatient rehabilitation unit for people following head injury or stoke. Typically service users spend an average of four months at the unit and many return home to continue their rehabilitation.

The post holder will work with therapists (OT, PT, SLT), psychologists, nurses and doctors contributing to goal-based programmes that prepare clients for return to a range of leisure and social activities. This is an innovative post and the post holder works closely with heads of department on the unit and the Service User Group.

RNRU is a regional neurorehabilitation unit, providing specialist services to adults from northeast London and southeast England. The team comprise speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, physiotherapy, and art and woodwork provision alongside nursing. The unit is led by neurology consultants, Dr Clarence Liu and Dr Nikos Gorgoraptis.

**The main duties of the job involve**:
Organising and coordinating leisure activities for service users

Purchase of materials and services to support leisure activities, including managing a small budget

Liaising with therapies, medical and nursing teams were appropriate on service users' needs and presentation

Attending supervision with Alex Henson, Lead SLT, regarding own development needs and progress, and Leisure Service activities and goals
