This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make a real impact on the fundraising at Wessex Cancer Trust, in turn helping us to reach more people affected by cancer in the Wessex region.

This post will be responsible for researching new fundraising prospects including Trust, Major Donors, and Corporates, providing insightful and well-prepared information to fundraising colleagues to support and grow funds from these income streams.

We’re looking for someone with research experience; someone who has creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to identify new opportunities.

The job is part-time, 22.5 hours per week, and the pro-rata salary for those hours is £13,200 - £15,000 per annum.

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Take a proactive and creative approach to identifying new prospects from our database, networks and other sources.
- Monitor resources such as but not limited to; Databases such as Funds Online, GRIN, the Charity Commission Website, and funding Newsletters.
- Develop full and accurate research profiles on donor/fundraising prospects drawing on a range of external sources, to inform colleagues and add genuine value to solicitation and stewardship plans.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects with appropriate reminders and support to colleagues to ensure all opportunities are maximised in an efficient and timely way.
- Work closely with Head of Philanthropy and Major Partnerships to develop network maps of donors and senior volunteers to ensure we can maximise the opportunities available through our highest value philanthropic relationships.
- Be an internal champion for using our fundraising CRM (Salesforce), ensuring high quality record keeping and encouraging colleagues to update records regularly and efficiently.
- As needed, gather information to assist in compiling reports for existing funders.

**General Duties**
- Work as an effective member of the Fundraising and Marketing team and support the goals of the team
- Be a respected ambassador of the Trust’s brand, values, mission and aims.
- Abide by all responsible requirements of the Trust’s Health and Safety policy.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of this post and as reasonably requested by the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships.

**Essential Skills/Experience**
- Research experience with strong skills and ability to demonstrate a methodical approach with a keen attention to detail
- Experience of working within a charity in a similar role OR ability to demonstrate understanding of the role and transferable skills.
- Knowledge of GDPR, confidentiality and how it applies to prospect research and high value fundraising.
- Creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to identify opportunities to access information within data protection rules.
- Good planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience of working collaboratively and cross functionally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good IT skills - ability to use Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

**Desired Skills**
- Knowledge of trusts, corporate and major gifts fundraising
- Familiarity with the work and Wessex Cancer Trust and / or other cancer support charities.
- Experience of Salesforce (CRM database)
