**Sefton Fostering Service Are you ready to #MakeADifference?**
Sefton is a diverse and exciting local authority that is on a journey of aspiration and ambition as it works towards delivering its Sefton 2030 Vision. This journey is shared with our partners and communities as we strive to ensure Sefton is a confident and connected Borough. There has never been a better time to join Sefton; we are on an improvement journey with innovative changes planned to include a partnership with Leeds County Council to look at a whole partnership and social work approach. We will be adopting Leeds Family Valued strengthening families model which will ensure we make a difference to our most vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
Are you a dedicated, enthusiastic child care professional who is ready for their next adventure? If so, we would love to hear from you.
Our Fostering Service has expanded; we have an opportunity for a Placement Support Worker who will specifically support our kinship foster carers, Special Guardians and the team also offers post adoption support. We have created this new team to provide greater focus and support as we realise that there can be different challenges for kinship carers and Special Guardians. Our aim where possible to keep children within their families and so we want to be sure carers receive the best possible support from the service and others who understand their experiences and challenges. We are seeking a committed person who has excellent communication skills; someone who is willing to listen and learn from our kinship carers to achieve best outcomes for children and young people in their care. It would be great if you had experience of group work and direct work with children and young people. You will need to understand safeguarding and child protection procedures.
You will be part of an established social work team which is supported by an experienced Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager who will support you in your role to ensure you are able to make a difference. You will be encouraged to work transparently and given scope to think creatively, supporting Supervising Social Workers, children, and families. We would love to hear from you if this role sounds right for you.
