**THE ROLE**

We are currently have a permanent opportunity for an Finance Assistant to join our team to help support our growing business. You will been ensuring all goods and services suppled to the company are accounted for and suppliers are paid in a manner that balances agreed terms and the company’s cash position.

Reporting to the Finance Director this role with involve working a 37 hour week ( 1 day working from home). Hours of work are flexible and can be discussed at interview stage.

The salary for this role starts from £26,000 per year depending on experience.

**GENERAL TASKS FOR THE ROLE**
- Setting up supplier accounts.
- Match purchase invoices to approved purchase orders and check that goods/services have been received prior to payment.
- Ensure purchase invoices, expenses and company credit card transactions are recorded accurately on the finance system and coded to the appropriate budget area.
- Ensure correct VAT treatment on all invoices and to ensure suppliers are paid in a manner that balances agreed terms and the company’s cash position.
- Electronic Filing of all supplier invoices, staff expense claims and credit cards.
- Prepare weekly purchase ledger BACS payment runs, other cheque/online payments.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?**
- Knowledge of accounting processes and procedures are essential.
- An AAT qualification or qualified by experience preferably in a manufacturing environment and a good standard of education (minimum of good GCSE levels or equivalent in English and maths).
- Able to respond to changing priorities and to manage a high-volume workload.
- Strong attention to detail and able to produce work with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Good IT skills and confident in the use of excel including pivot tables and v lookup, word, and outlook.

Adequate employment references and relevant Right to Work documentation must be provided prior to commencement of employment.
