Established in 1973, we are proud to manage and deliver football, physical activity, and health & wellbeing programmes within the Glenrothes area. We believe that participation in football and physical activity really can change lives and we are committed to creating opportunities for participation across Glenrothes, removing barriers such as age, gender, ability, and background.

Our charity provides a wide range of activities and programmes from mental health & wellbeing programmes to activities for young people to adults. With over 650 members, our facilities at Overstenton, Glenrothes welcome not only our members but a range of community groups and partners with an aim to make a difference to people’s lives and aim to support with creating a positive destination.

What makes Strollers different from many other sports and leisure providers is the fact that we invest into our community facilities and services we provide locally, the programmes we deliver and the communities we serve.

We are excited about recruiting a Child & Family Support Officer to increase the participation levels of inactive and hard to reach groups of children and young people in football and physical activity by delivering high quality coaching sessions, connecting, and supporting families and ensuring more opportunities are available within an extra-curricular setting.

**Job Title **Child & Family Support Officer
**Reporting to**:Operations Manager
**Working Hours**:37 Hours per Week
**Salary**:£31,000 Per Annum (1yr contract with
potential of being extended)

**Job Role**:
Our charity is about to experience a period of growth and we require a structured, proactive, and vibrant person to contribute to our organisations social objectives by developing and delivering our football programme and activities with schools. The charity currently has three core functions: participation in football & physical activity, education, and health & well-being.

The Child & Family Support Officer will lead and assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of our new extra
- curricular programme to support young people in accessing extra organised activities before and after school that will benefit both the individual and family by providing additional child support and for parents/carers to access/stay in work or education.

**Key Duties**:

- To provide a positive role model and always maintain high professional standards.
- Support and transport young people to and from activities, contact with families and other appointments.
- Lead and support with the delivery of our breakfast and after school sessions.
- Assist with creating development plans for the children, working with

Girfec and the Shanarri indicators to support the young people.
- Liaise with parents/guardians and carers and ensure strong partnership working with all stakeholders.
- Lead and support in working alongside each family to understand the needs of everyone participating.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties directed by senior staff.
- Liaising with and developing positive and productive relationships with professionals from a wide range of agencies, including school staff and health and social care.
- Provide weekly written updates on the progress of the programme and feedback from parents.
- Plan and deliver extra-curricular activities during the school holidays that supports families all year round.
- Lead in organising events and activities for the young people.
- Develop positive relationships and provide key support to individuals within the school/after school programme in line with their needs.

- Expand our offering to individuals from the families we are working with to develop positive destinations and meet local needs.
- Provide reports to the Trustees and funders as and when required.
- Work closely with our Operations Manager to ensure all data collection, monitoring and evaluation are up to date and in line with GDPR policies.

**Essential Desirable**

**Qualifications **SVQ3 in Social Service Educated to Degree
(Children & Young Level in Sport related / people/ youth work / similar field. social care / education)

**Experience **Proven experience Proven experience in working with young working within a people or in a school school/education setting education setting. and /or youth
Experience of development. organising activities

Comfortable working with families and teachers.

Proven Monitoring and
