The Directorate of Student and Academic Services (DSaAS) leads on the development and provision of outstanding student facing services. The Directorate is responsible for ensuring that students have an excellent experience and provides services across the student and academic lifecycle from enrolment to graduation, covering everything from wellbeing services to ensuring new courses are set up correctly. The Directorate is at the centre of a transformation programme as we seek to make services which underpin our student experience more efficient and effective. Over the next year, we will reconfigure the ways we work, reducing silos, making better use of systems, and improving compliance with regulations, policies, and processes.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
Working in the Apprenticeships Delivery Team, the post holder will provide efficient administrative support to the operation of matters relating to Apprenticeships. The post holder will be expected to work closely with students and staff in their team, the wider Directorate and other professional service departments and academic staff. The post holder will take responsibility for reviewing apprenticeships’ progress and completion in line with the relevant apprenticeship funding rules and polices.

**The main activities and responsibilities of the role**:

- Play a supporting role in the organisation and delivery of apprenticeships ensuring that these are delivered successfully and timely, and that they contribute to a positive experience for our students and staff.
- Work closely with assessors, apprenticeship administration and recruitment teams to support the effective completion of enrolment documentation resolving any queries in a timely manner.
- Review all apprenticeship completion, breaks in learning and withdrawal documents along with relevant paperwork to ensure accuracy of completion and compliance with relevant policies and apprenticeship funding rules, liaising with assessors, programme leaders and the apprenticeship administration team to rectify any omissions.
- Complete regular reviews to identify and resolve any gaps or omissions to ensure effective reporting of apprentice progress and completion and compliance with apprenticeship funding rules and relevant policies.
- Provide a high-quality customer-service-oriented first-line support service for enquiries relating to funding from internal and external stakeholders and students.
- Proactively resolve issues and enquiries raised, prioritising and resolving queries with mínimal supervision and escalating these as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the wider team and across the Directorate including the creation and regular review of business processes and standard operating procedures.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

- GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above.
- Experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of delivering information, advice, and guidance.
- Experience of using data to manage workload.
- Experience of successful implementation of business processes and systems.
- Ability to build strong working relationships both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide range of contacts both internal and external to the University.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
- Strong digital competency across a range of technologies, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
- Evidence of being self-motivated, which includes an ability to work on, own initiative, work to deadlines, achieve targets and undertake any necessary research.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle conflict and/or sensitive situations.
- Solutions-focussed.
