Americas Policy Advisor (International)

**Salary**: National - ranging from £49,700 - £61,500 and London from £53,300 - £68,300 per annum

The FCA is a global regulator, supporting open markets through shaping the international regulatory agenda. The International Division leads our strategy for international engagement, working collaboratively across the FCA to ensure the organisation delivers on its international priorities.

The Global Strategy and Engagement Team helps set, advise and deliver on the FCA’s strategic engagement with non-European authorities and jurisdictions. It enhances the FCA’s capacity to meet its statutory and strategic objectives through high-quality international engagement, using a range of influencing tools and techniques.

What you will be doing- Helping shape and prioritise the FCA’s engagement with authorities, industry and organisations located in the Americas- Developing and delivering creative strategy and engagement plans for priority jurisdictions in the Americas, with particular responsibility for the USA. Working closely with colleagues across the FCA to ensure a coordinated and considered approach- Advising and supporting FCA Executive Directors and SLT in their engagements with key US and other international partners, including overseas visits- Working closely with HMT, the Bank of England and other UK and foreign authorities to support joint UK-US engagements, such as Economic and Financial Dialogues and regulatory forums.- Analysing key policy and political developments shaping global policy and providing advice on the opportunities and challenges arising for the FCA- Managing the FCA’s day-to-day engagement with regulators, including handling assistance requests and ensuring appropriate information sharing agreements are in place

We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations.

The skills and experience you’ll have

Minimum- Experience of international relations, and advising and influencing internal and external stakeholders

Essential- Identifies and manage stakeholders, building rapport and constructive relationships.- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues succinctly and compellingly, adapted to the audience- Work inclusively and collaboratively, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, drawing on range of expertise across the wider organisation to deliver- Ability to analyse complex issues and make judgements supported by evidence, including where only partial information is available- Clear understanding of the FCA’s functions and objectives within the UK financial regulatory framework and good understanding of financial services
