Drug and Alcohol Floating Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for an organised and compassionate individual to provide tenancy support to adults suffering with substances misuse and related issues.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
Undertake comprehensive assessments of need and risk assessments and develop and review care plans to meet identified needs.

Provide housing related support services to individuals with substance use issues and complex needs, i.e. accessing appropriate accommodation, setting up and maintaining a home, paying rent and bills, ensuring the safety and security of the home.

Provide budgeting and debt advice including help with reducing debt, making benefit claims and developing personal financial management skills.

Provide advice on how to improve life, social and domestic skills.

Provide emotional support and assistance in accessing local community services such as health services, counselling and peer support.

Liaise with other service providers such as alcohol and drug services, community mental health teams, the probation service, GPs, other health professionals, welfare advisors and legal services.

Assist and support in accessing training, education and employment opportunities including advice on accessing appropriate childcare.

Maintain appropriate written and electronic case management records and undertake appropriate administrative tasks.

**Person Specification**:

- NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care and/or relevant professional qualification. Considerable relevant experience would be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- At least 6 months experience of working within a substance misuse service environment or with another relevant vulnerable client group
- Experience of providing floating support.
- Experience of liaising with other specialist and non-specialist agencies.
- Full driving licence with access to own transport to be used for work purposes with appropriate insurance. Travel expenses are covered at 45p per mile.
